Even though their sectors are well subscribed, this might seem a poor showing given how ground-breaking these cars were in their original formats. From time spent with the AWD Sensing, I'd suggest the latest 'compact recreational vehicle' or 'comfortable runabout vehicle', take your pick deserves more notice.

The CR-V isn't flawless yet remains solid and likeable. The HR-V less so. Every maker worth its salt has a compact crossover these days and as much as a new Limited trim brings improvements, the overall impression is that this Jazz-based has been pummelled by the avalanche of rival products.

There's strength in the spec. Leather-appointed seats with heating in the front chairs and LED automatic headlights, taillights and front fog lights are nice treats, and adopting the CR-V's LaneWatch is beneficial as it's a handy feature for tight city commuting. Yet a design just five years fresh has dated. A sloping roofline and rear door handles hidden into the door pillars lend some coupe imprints, but being on trend now means looking especially trendy. While lacking a full sense of 'newness' as result of its shape basically being a facsimile of the one before, the CR-V has aged better and arguably is better attuned to its quite different fan base. Interior themes are broadly similar, so each score well for ergonomic sensibility and major instrumentation clarity.However, neither gets the active safety gear offered in the Sensing models, not even AEB.

While the five-seater CR-V has plenty of boot space thanks to its low-set floor, the seven-seat version has had to make a few compromises to include the extra pews in the rear. Naturally, I took the opportunity to try to push them towards buying something cool. To a kid in the early 00s, nothing could be more uncool or detestable than any of these. The Sport Premium has a specific tune for the suspension, steering and electronics that help it navigate bends better than before as well.

Meanwhile, the Touring makes do with the normal CR-V-spec tune for the chassis and steering, with less comfy cloth seats to boot. So is this still the bang-for-buck champ of the segment? Plus, look at how far the rear doors open. Any other cars I should consider? Well, a lot, given these two models encompass a wide price range. It also forgoes many of the active safety aids like adaptive cruise control. The design of the cars interior will grow on you, very thoughtful and utilitarian design that you will appreciate the longer you drive it. It is a car that is a good compromise of reliability,room, and economy! I had a Suburban that could not pass a repair shop. The CRV likes to pass gas stations and thats great! Replaced front brake pads only and rotors milled at 90, miles I know!! Never had a vehicle even near this long lasting.

Oil changes every 3 or 4K. Still safely on 3rd set of tires, largely because the 2nd set High grade Michelins lasted for 65k. That's it! Other than gasoline honest 24mpg city, 28mpg highway. That CR-V is simply the best overall vehicle I have ever owned. We love our CRV. We love the cargo capacity and we have hauled just about everything you can think of.

We love the comfort of the interior and have taken many driving trips in it. Except that now that it is a bit older and the ride is getting a little bumpy, there is nothing we can say that's negative about this car.

When we trade it, it will be to get a newer one. We're just that satisfied. Other than low fuel economy 19 miles in the city and a design issue with the cargo space rear seat supports narrow the floor space in the center of cargo areaI love my Honda CR-V. Even the weather was perfect although I'm not sure they had anything to do about that. The booking process was simple and clearly explained everything we were booking and the extra options available.
